# Capture using a Hamina Clip

> Capture Wi-Fi traffic using a Hamina Clip in Airtool 2.

*Airtool 2* can use the *[Hamina Clip](https://www.hamina.com/clip)* as a locally connected Wi-Fi capture device. When connected to your Mac, *Airtool 2* treats the Clip like any other supported capture adapter, allowing you to configure, start, and stop captures directly from the app and analyze the results in Wireshark or save them for later review.

The *Hamina Clip* is a compact, portable Wi-Fi measurement device designed for wireless professionals. It includes two independent Wi-Fi radios, allowing it to capture traffic on up to two channels simultaneously.

When used with *Airtool 2*, the *Clip* acts as a local capture adapter connected directly to your laptop, enabling packet capture without using the Mac's built-in Wi-Fi interface.

All *Airtool 2* features—including automatic frame slicing, capture size limits, file rotation, and live captures—are fully supported when using the *Clip*, just as they are with the built-in Wi-Fi adapter.

## Connect and start capturing

Follow these steps to capture Wi-Fi traffic on up to two simultaneous channels using the *Clip*:

1. Connect the *Clip* to your Mac over USB-C.
2. Wait a few seconds for the *Clip* to initialize and become ready for capturing.
3. Open the *Airtool 2* menu and choose **Hamina Clip…**.
4. Select and configure the channel and channel width for each channel you want to capture.
5. Click **Start Capture** to begin.
