# General

> General settings in Airtool 2.

Use General settings to adjust how *Airtool 2* performs Wi-Fi traffic captures, choose the location to save capture files, configure file limits and rotation, and more. To change these settings, click on the *Airtool 2* menu bar extra and choose *Settings*, then click General.

| Capture files location             | Choose the default location to save capture files or whether you want *Airtool 2* to prompt you to choose the location for each capture file. Capture files can be saved locally or uploaded to a cloud service. | After saving capture file          | Choose what to do after a capture file is saved: **•** *Do nothing*<br />**•** *Automatically open file in*: open the capture file in an external application of your choice.<br />**•** *Run command*: run a command to post-process the capture file. Use `%F` to specify the capture file's path — for example, the command `open %F` opens the capture file using the default application for handling capture files.<br />**•** *Save output to text file*: available when using *Run command*, saves the command's output to a file ending in *.txt* with the same name and folder as the capture file. |
