# Filter networks using custom filters

> Create and use custom filters in WiFi Explorer.

You can use pre-defined filter controls to quickly display 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or 6 GHz networks, as well as secure or open networks only. To display only 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz, secure, or open networks select the pre-defined filter from the *Quick Filter* bar.

  To clear any filters and show all networks, select All from the Quick Filter bar.

## Add a custom filter in Settings

1. Go to *WiFi Explorer* > *Settings* and click *Filters*.
2. Click on the **+** button to add a new filter.
3. Select the new filter and press **Enter** to give it a custom name.
4. Double-click the **Filter** field to enter a new [filter expression](/wifiexplorer/filter-scan-results).

  You can change the filter control position in the *Quick Filter* bar by going to *WiFi Explorer* > *Settings* > *Filters* and reordering the entries in the table. To reorder the entries in the table, drag the row, then drop it into the new position.
