# Issues and recommendations

> Issues and recommendations shown by WiFi Explorer for a selected network.

*WiFi Explorer* can show recommendations on resolving possible issues affecting a network based on the selected network's capabilities and configuration and current Wi-Fi environment conditions. These issues and recommendations are shown in the right sidebar for the selected network.

*WiFi Explorer* will try to identify and offer recommendations for the following possible issues:

| Issue                       | Description                                                                                                      |
| --------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 40 MHz Channel Width        | Shown when the selected network uses a 40 MHz channel width in the 2.4 GHz band.                                 |
| 2.4 GHz Only                | Shown when the selected network is only operating in the 2.4 GHz band.                                           |
| Hidden Network              | Shown when the selected network is configured as a *hidden* network.                                             |
| Large Group of Networks     | Shown when the selected network is part of a large group of networks belonging to the same access point.         |
| Legacy Equipment            | Shown when the selected network's access point appears too old and lacks support for modern 802.11 technologies. |
| Low Signal Strength         | Shown when the selected network has low signal strength.                                                         |
| Overlapping 2.4 GHz Channel | Shown when the selected network is using a 2.4 GHz channel other than 1, 6, or 11.                               |
| Separate Network Names      | Shown when the selected network has separate SSIDs for the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or 6 GHz bands.                       |
| Too Many Networks           | Shown when too many networks are using the same channel as the selected network.                                 |
| Weak Security               | Shown when the selected network is open or when the selected network uses legacy or weak security modes.         |
