# Notifications

> Notifications settings in WiFi Signal.

Use Notifications settings to manage notifications about Wi-Fi events. To change these settings, click on the *WiFi Signal* menu bar extra, then click on the *gear* icon and choose *Settings*, then select Notifications.

| Notify me when                   | Select the Wi-Fi events you want to be notified about. You can choose to be notified when: **•** *This computer joins a network*<br />**•** *This computer disconnects from the network*<br />**•** *This computer roams to another access point*<br />**•** *The channel configuration of the access point changes*<br />**•** *The transmit rate drops below* a threshold you set (Mbit/s)<br />**•** *The quality of the link degrades*, based on either *Signal strength drops below* or *SNR drops below* a threshold you set |
| Use annotations if available     | Choose to have *WiFi Signal* use annotations, instead of the network's BSSID, to identify individual access points in notifications.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               |
| Suppress when computer is asleep | Choose to prevent notifications from being displayed for Wi-Fi events that happened when the computer was asleep.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  |
