# Status

> Status settings in WiFi Signal.

Use Status settings to configure what information should be displayed in the *WiFi Signal* menu bar extra. To change these settings, click on the *WiFi Signal* menu bar extra, then click on the *gear* icon and choose *Settings*, then select Status.

| Option                                                      | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                      |
| ----------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Display Pattern Line 1                                      | Configure the display pattern for the upper section of the *WiFi Signal* menu bar extra. If no display pattern is set for the lower section, the whole area is used.                                             |
| Display Pattern Line 2                                      | Configure the display pattern for the lower section of the *WiFi Signal* menu bar extra. If no display pattern is set for the upper section, the whole area is used.                                             |
| Hide signal strength indicator when using a display pattern | Choose to hide the signal strength indicator when other information is being displayed in the *WiFi Signal* menu bar extra. If a display pattern is not set, then the signal strength indicator is always shown. |
