Proximity Beacon inspector shows information about nearby proximity beacons. Two types of proximity beacons are supported: iBeacon and AltBeacon.

WiFi Explorer Pro 3 uses your Mac’s built-in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio to scan for proximity beacons.

You can use the information provided by the Proximity Beacon inspector to detect the presence of proximity beacons or to design, validate, and troubleshoot the deployment of proximity beacons as part of a Wi-Fi network installation. A list of the columns available in the Proximity Beacon inspector is shown below:

Column	Description
Major	The major identifier (0-65535) assigned to the proximity beacon.
Measured Power	The received signal strength indicator (RSSI) measured at 1 meter from the proximity beacon as dBm.
Minor	The minor identifier (0-65535) assigned to the proximity beacon.
Protocol	The protocol implemented by the proximity beacon. The protocol can be either iBeacon or AltBeacon.
Proximity UUID	The Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) of the proximity beacon.
Signal	The current received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the proximity beacon as dBm.
